Problemen met mijn browser!
Van bijvoorbeeld Netscape is bekend dat deze browser
problemen veroorzaakt met dit forum.
Onderstaand wat (engelstalige)informatie van de auteur
van dit forum, waarbij de meeste problemen worden opgelost.
Problem - any one or more of the following:
Users cannot see new content, even after they have just posted it.
Users do not appear to be able to log in.
Cookies do not appear to be set despite the browser being configured to accept them.
Some users report that the light bulbs are not working correctly.
Cause:
This is most likely caused by the Web Browser drawing pages from either a local disk cache or a cache at the ISP or Firewall level. Windows XP users could also be experiencing trouble with the default "Personal Firewall" sofware. Other such similar "Personal Firewall" software (Zone Alarm Pro for example) could cause similar problems.
Resolution (look for your browser for specific instructions):
Internet Explorer through Version 5 Series:
Select Tools -> Internet Options -> Temporary Internet Files section
Click "Settings" and enable the option "Every visit to the page". NOTE: Now is a good time to limit the number of megabytes that Internet Explorer has to store pages on your hard disk; its default is 1% of your total hard disk size. Consider reducing that down to 10 Megabytes at this time.
Click "OK"
Click "Delete Files"
Click "OK"
Note that Microsoft has identified a bug with this version of IE that causes it to ignore cookies set by 'two-letter domains' as noted in this Microsoft Knowledge Base article: Internet Explorer Does Not Set a Cookie for Two-Letter Domains If you are using Internet Explorer 5 you will need to make the changes outlined in the article if you are having trouble with a two-letter (.cc, .nu, etc.) domain.
Internet Explorer Version 6 Series
Tools -> Internet Options Privacy Tab
Click "Advanced"
Ensure settings are the following:
-> "Override automatic cookie handling" - CHECKED
-> First party Cookies: ACCEPT - selected
-> Third-party Cookies: BLOCK - selected
-> "Always allow session cookies" - user discretion
This allows the UBB.classic™ software to work as designed while still blocking potentially malicious third-party cookies.
In addition, the UBB.classic™ software cannot exist within a frameset. Internet Explorer often sees the UBB.classic™ within the frameset as a "third party" and will block the cookies.
Note that Microsoft has identified a bug with this version of Internet Explorer which causes it to ignore cookies set by 'two letter' domains as noted in the Microsoft Knowledge Base article listed above - Internet Explorer 6 Service pack 1 addresses this issue, more detail is available here: How to Obtain the Latest Service Pack for Internet Explorer 6 If you are using Internet Explorer 6 you will need to install SP1 if you are having trouble with a two-letter (.cc, .nu, etc.) domain.

Windows XP users with "Norton Personal Firewall" software, or similar (adding a trusted site):
Open NIS.
Click Options.
Click Internet Security (or Personal Firewall).
Click Advanced Options.
Click the Web tab.
Click Add Site. A new site/domain box appears.
Enter the url of the site that you want to receive the referrer information and click OK. That site name appears in the left frame of the Advanced Options window.
Click the name of the new site.
Click the Privacy tab.
Check the "Use these rules for..." box.
Change the Referrer from "Block" to "Allow."
Click Apply, and then click OK.
Click OK to close the Options window.

If you wish to disable all filtering: Click on custom settings and make sure enable privacy is checked. Then click on the Custom Level tab. Under Confidential settings select medium. Under Cookie Blocking select None:Allow Cookies. Do not place a check mark next to Enable Browser Privacy. Place a check mark next to Enable Secure Connections (https). Click OK and you're all set. Additional Information:
Check your local computer's clock. If it is inaccurate, please reset it to your current local time, clear out your browser cache, clear out any cookies set by the site, and try again.
If you are using a cable modem, please contact your cable modem provider to discuss the page cache that they may be running on the system. Be prepared to use an alternate provider (dial up) as a test of the page cache if they are indeed running one. Many hosts with cache systems claim that they are 'transparent' when that is not the case.
Also know that many large ISPs around the country will run cache servers that only clear out at scheduled intervals. This can affect performance regionally and make content fail to show up correctly for your users in these areas where the cache has not cleared for a while.

Hoe kan ik een afbeelding aan berichten toevoegen?
Om een afbeelding in jouw bericht of handtekening toe te voegen, moet die afbeelding al ergens op een webserver aanwezig zijn. Dit zou bijvoorbeeld een afbeelding op jouw persoonlijke Homepage kunnen zijn. Om een afbeelding aan een bericht toe te voegen kun je volgende 'tags' gebruiken:

Stel voor, jouw afbeelding heet plaatje.gif en staat op jouw webserver http://www.mijnserver.nl/afbeeldingen. In dat geval is de juiste opmaak:

Hetzelfde kun je ook in je handtekening doen. Klik op Mijn profiel. Ga naar 'Persoonlijke informatie, email, wachtwoord, enz.' en klik op bewerken. Zoek het veld 'Handtekening' en voer daar m.b.v. bovenstaande uitleg jouw afbeelding in.
Noot: Maak afbeeldingen zo klein mogelijk en in ieder geval kleiner dan 35 kB. Grote afbeeldingen maken het board traag!

Waarom is het onderwerp van een bericht zo belangrijk?
Het eerste bericht in een nieuw onderwerp bepaalt de naam van het onderwerp waaronder alle volgende antwoorden terug te vinden zijn. Als er eenmaal een antwoord gegeven is, kan het onderwerp van het eerste bericht niet meer worden veranderd. Daarom is het belangrijk dat het onderwerp van een nieuw bericht vanaf het begin af aan duidelijk is. Maak het onderwerp zo beschrijvend en specifiek mogelijk. Bijvoorbeeld, 'waar vind ik de website van aquaforum', is beter dan alleen 'aquaforum'. De kans dat er op jouw bericht wordt gereageerd is niet alleen groter, maar het maakt het ook veel gemakkelijker om alle berichten in dit specifieke onderwerp (bijvoorbeeld middels de zoekpagina) terug te vinden.

U kunt dus HTML tags/codes gebruiken, maar zorg ervoor dat u de juiste HTML syntax/spelling gebruikt!

What are user titles?

Can I edit my own posts?
You may edit or delete your own posts at any time. Look for the edit icon on the post to be edited. No one else can edit your post, except for the forum moderator(s) or the message board administrators. A note is generated at the bottom of each post that is edited so that every one knows when a post has been edited. Note that if your post was the start of a new topic, deleting your post will result in the removal of the entire topic (all replies after your topic will also be deleted). Please note that your board administrators may disable the ability of members to edit or delete posts. Only registered members can edit or delete their posts.

Can I use a signature?
You may use a signature (commonly used in email messages) on your posts. You may set your signature in your member profile. Once you have a signature stored, you can choose to include it with any post you make by checking the "include signature" box when you create your post. This message board's administrator may elect to turn the signature feature off at any time, however. If that is the case, the "include signature" option will not appear when you post a note, even if you have stored a signature. You may change your signature at any time by changing your profile, unless a message board administrator locks your profile.
Note: You may not use HTML in your signature file, but you may use UBB Code. Note that the board administrator may disable the UBB Code Image tag.

Can I attach files?
For security reasons, you may not attach files to any posts. You may cut and paste text into your post, however, or use HTML and/or UBB Code (if enabled) to provide hyperlinks to outside documents.

Can I search?
You may search for specific posts based on a word or words found in the posts, by a particular registered member, by date, and/or by forum. Just click on the "search" link at the top of most pages.

What are member ratings?
The administrators of this message board may permit members to rate each other. Only registered members may be rated and they can only be rated by other members. Even if ratings are being used on this board, you may elect to not have other members rate you. To turn off member ratings for yourself, just change your profile settings. This option can be disabled by the board administrators.

What are private messages?
The administrators of this message board may permit members to send private messages to each other. A private message is not email. Private messages are one-to-one communications that can only be read by the recipient and the forum-administrator. You can read private messages in your profile section. You can also elect to be notified by email whenever someone sends you a private message (you can set this in your profile). You can also prevent anyone from sending you a private message (also configurable in your profile). Only registered members may send private messages. This option can be disabled by the board administrators.
To send someone a private message, look for the private message icon on a post a person creates. You can send a private message through the person's member profile, or from your Buddy List, if you have added the person to your Buddy List.

Ignore lists apply to private messages only. Anyone you add to your ignore list can no longer send you a private message. Are there any censor features?
The message board administrators have the power to censor certain words that may be posted. This censoring is not an exact science, however, so certain words may be censored out of context. How do the new post images work?

What is Quick Reply?
Quick Reply allows you to add a reply to an open topic without leaving the topic itself. At the bottom of each topic will be a field in which you may write your reply. Once you are done, you may post the reply directly, preview the post (if allowed by the administration), or move the post to the normal reply page. If you do not wish to use Quick Reply, you may turn it off by editing your preferences - click the "Mijn profiel" link at the top of the page, then click the Wijzig voorkeuren link. How do I create new polls?
To create a new poll, click the "New Poll" button available inside of a forum:  . If the button is not visible, then polling is disabled in that forum.
Creating a new poll starts like creating a new topic - you must provide a topic subject, and a message for the post.
The polling system on this board allows you to place multiple questions in a single poll. Each question may have multiple options for users to choose from. While creating the poll, you will need to decide the number of questions to ask, and the number of options each question will have.
Once you have posted your poll, you can not return to edit it. You will be able to preview the poll, and return to make changes before the poll has been posted.

What is the "Blue Arrow" at the top of each topic?
